To promote the development of economic and trade relations between China and Colombia and enhance practical bilateral cooperation, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) will host the China-Colombia Economic and Trade Forum in Beijing on Wednesday, July 31.

Leaders from CCPIT as well as representatives from the Colombian government and business community will attend the forum.

The event will focus on introducing trade and investment opportunities and projects in Colombia, facilitating matchmaking and exchanges between participating companies in sectors such as infrastructure construction, energy and chemicals, agriculture, and tourism.

Enterprises from relevant industries are cordially invited to send representatives to register for this forum. Admission is free.

Colombia is located in the northwest of South America, endowed with abundant natural resources and a high degree of marketization. Its economy has maintained continuous growth for over a decade. Colombia's main exports include petroleum and petroleum products, chemical products, coal, coffee, agricultural and sideline products, and textiles. Its main imports comprise mechanical equipment, chemical products, agricultural and sideline products, textiles, and metal materials. Key trade partners include the United States, China, Mexico, and Japan. China is Colombia's second-largest global trading partner, while Colombia is China's fifth-largest trading partner in Latin America. In 2018, bilateral trade between China and Colombia reached US$14.6 billion, marking a year-on-year increase of 29%.
