
People’s Network Harbin, June 1 (Reporter Han Tingpeng) – On May 31, the final stop of the 2019 Heilongjiang Cultural and Tourism Promotion Event kicked off officially at the open-air square of Chongqing Aegean Shopping Park. Representatives from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, over 200 local tourism enterprises and media outlets, together with thousands of local citizens on site, joined this 7-hour-long cultural and tourism gala.
Starting from May 19, 2019, the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism launched its first-ever large-scale public cultural and tourism promotion campaign in four cities namely Shanghai, Wuhan, Changsha and Chongqing. According to incomplete statistics, during the 18-day promotion period, more than 100,000 citizens from various places attended the events in person, and over 100 million people both online and offline experienced the refreshing summer vibe of Heilongjiang.

Chongqing Aegean Shopping Park, once dubbed an "internet-famous business district" by netizens, gained viral popularity online for its creatively designed "Husband Storage Room" and "Daydreaming Zone". May 31 was not only a sunny weekend but also the eve of International Children’s Day. Starting from 12:00 noon, the 2,000-square-meter open-air square in this bustling business district drew a large crowd of local citizens, who gathered around the stage to watch the performances.
Promptly at 18:00, the art performance troupe from Heilongjiang presented a wonderful show of original Heilongjiang productions to the guests on site and over 1,000 audiences in the shopping park. On the stage, the magnificent court dance Viennese Waltz fully displayed the exotic charm of Heilongjiang; the musical clapper talk Beautiful Scenery of Northern China Lies in Heilongjiang showcased the province’s abundant forest and wetland resources as well as its breathtaking scenery across four seasons. The programs rich in Northeast ethnic styles, Enchanted by the Girls’ Drums and Silk Flowers Welcoming Spring, were the most beloved by the audience. The performers’ genuine skills in handkerchief-throwing and flower-drum beating won waves of applause, prompting the audience to take out their phones one after another to capture and share these splendid moments.

It is reported that Harbin has rolled out a series of segmented products and routes this summer, such as "Checking in Harbin’s Historic Buildings", "Frozen Adventures in Summer" and "Harbin Under the New Night Sky". The China-Russia Cultural and Art Exchange Week will also kick off in Harbin, featuring 135 classic performances in 264 shows to create a "Summer Music Festival". Mudanjiang has launched seven themed tourism products including "Trekking Through Forests and Snowfields · Red Culture Exploration Tour" and "A Fun Water Childhood for Me · Joyful Family Tour". Suihua’s summer tourism offerings include grassland and wetland sightseeing, wellness and leisure vacations, while Heihe has launched two premium summer routes: "China-Russia Border Scenery Tour" and "Wudalianchi Ecological Wellness Tour".

At the promotion event, local Chongqing travel operators conducted exchanges and cooperation negotiations with representatives from cultural and tourism departments and tourism enterprises of various cities in Heilongjiang. A number of travel operators stated that in recent years, high-end tourists from Chongqing have shown growing interest in Heilongjiang’s self-driving tourism resources. After seeing the reorganized summer tourism products this year, they are more confident in sending high-end tourists to Heilongjiang.
Beyond Chongqing, since the first promotion stop in Shanghai on May 19, travel operators in Wuhan and Changsha have also reached cooperation intentions with Heilongjiang tourism enterprises at each stop.
