The Second CIIE Launches "Advance Matchmaking" Mode, Registration System for Professional Visitors Release date: 2019-07-04     Reading:

On June 28, the Second China International Import Expo (CIIE) Supply-Demand Matchmaking Session (Quality Life Exhibition Zone, Science and Technology Life Exhibition Zone) and Shanghai Investment Promotion Roadshow, jointly organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, was held in Hall 4.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). This event marked the first pre-expo supply-demand matchmaking session for the second CIIE and was the fourth investment promotion roadshow following stops in Hangzhou, Nanning, and Shenzhen.

Chen Ping, Deputy Inspector of the Department of Market Operations of the Ministry of Commerce; Shen Weihua, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce; and Tang Guifa, President of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the executive organizer of the CIIE, attended the event and delivered speeches. Zhang Xinyuan, Deputy President of the Bank of China Shanghai Branch, delivered a speech on behalf of the Bank of China, the full-process supporting partner of the investment promotion roadshow.

As the preparations for the second CIIE shift their focus from exhibition recruitment to investment promotion and exhibition organization, attracting more high-quality buyers and encouraging greater participation from private enterprises and small-to-medium-sized enterprises have become key tasks. To better serve buyers and provide them with more convenience and practical information, relevant parties will not only continue to conduct investment promotion roadshows but will also organize pre-expo supply-demand matchmaking sessions. These sessions aim to provide a platform for buyers and exhibitors to understand each other and conduct business negotiations before the expo, thereby facilitating on-site transactions during the event.

This pre-expo supply-demand matchmaking session saw participation from over 200 exhibitors and buyers. On the exhibitor side, well-known companies such as BSH Home Appliances and Unilever took part in the matchmaking. Among the buyers were central enterprises like China Resources, large state-owned enterprises such as Shanghai Bailian Group, major platform companies including Alibaba and NetEase, as well as private enterprises and small-to-medium-sized enterprises from key regions like Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.

It was reported that for the Quality Life and Science and Technology Life exhibition zones, besides companies like BSH Home Appliances and Unilever, corporations such as Microsoft, Facebook, Panasonic, and Samsung will also "make an appearance" at the second CIIE with various exhibits. In addition to the existing three sections—Furniture & Home Accessories, Beauty & Daily Chemicals, and Apparel & Accessories—the Quality Life exhibition zone will introduce a new section for Maternal, Infant & Children's Products and a dedicated area for premium consumer goods. It will also feature a selection of niche brands entering the Chinese market for the first time. The Science and Technology Life exhibition zone will bring together a range of cutting-edge technologies closely related to daily life, including high-end home appliances, smart home devices, consumer electronics, health and environmental technology, service robots, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and software technology. These advanced products and technologies will add new highlights to the Import Expo.

The Registration System for Professional Visitors is Now Officially Open

The Second China International Import Expo (CIIE) has established seven exhibition zones: Science and Technology Life, Automobile, Equipment, Medical Equipment and Healthcare Products, Quality Life, Food and Agricultural Products, and Trade in Services. Buyers, industry professionals, experts, scholars, and public officials from relevant enterprises, social organizations, institutions, and government agencies can register as professional visitors to attend the Second CIIE for exhibition viewing, business negotiations, and procurement.

It is understood that the management and service system for professional visitors at the Second CIIE follows the model of the first edition, primarily based on delegation formation. Various provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, cities specifically designated in the state plan, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps will form local trade delegations. The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council will form a central enterprise trade delegation, and the National Health Commission will form its own trade delegation. Domestic professional visitors will join the corresponding trade delegation based on their organization's registered location or affiliation.

The official website of the China International Import Expo has now launched the registration system for professional visitors of the Second CIIE. Domestic and international professional visitors can register starting today under the "Visitor Pre-registration" section, located within the "Professional Visitor" area of the "Business Exhibition" page on the CIIE official website (www.ciie.org).

Professional visitors from enterprises can register directly without an invitation code.

To ensure the professionalism of the exhibition audience and create a favorable environment for business discussions and procurement, professional visitors from government agencies, public institutions, and social organizations must first obtain an invitation code from the secretariat of their respective local trade delegation (the competent commerce department) and enter it during registration. However, visitors from enterprises may register directly without an invitation code. The registration system will assign them to the corresponding trade delegation based on the registered address information provided by the enterprise.
